Opening a New Can of Worms? Teacher Competency Revisited in the Era of Mobile Learning

Mobile devices are changing the way we do everything from pay for a coffee to hailing a taxi, but are they changing the way we learn? Dr. Paul Kim discussed the minimal effect of mobile devices on teaching and learning in an otherwise digital era in this month’s Mobile Learning Explorations webinar.  He took and in-depth look at relevant and thought provoking issues such as mobile device bans in classrooms and resources needed for a successful initiative.  He highlighted several global case studies that brought attention to the varied means and perceptions of mobile devices of different cultures.  He also shared ingenuous ways to charge a device without an outlet.  Watch the webinar to find out how a rickshaw can be used as a charger.
