In a February 2024 survey conducted by Teaching Strategies, 83% of early childhood educators said they are not very familiar with the Science of Reading, and only 28% said they feel very prepared to build students’ early literacy abilities. How can we best support early childhood teachers to build up their knowledge of the Science of Reading and their confidence and abilities in teaching early literacy?

High-quality professional development can give educators the knowledge and practice they need to support children’s emerging literacy skills. Join experts from Teaching Strategies as we examine best practices for early literacy professional development and certification for teachers. Together, we explore:

  • Why high-quality, Science-of-Reading-based professional development is essential to your early learning program
  • What an effective early literacy professional development program should include
  • How a comprehensive certification program can add value to a teacher’s professional portfolio and a program’s impact on child outcomes

Ensure teachers are prepared to support every child in your program—join us to learn more. This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK-3 school and district leaders.
