Educators don’t have to choose between joyful literacy experiences and rigorous literacy instruction for their students. With the right classroom practices, literacy can be both joyful and rigorous!

Join renowned author and educator Dr. Ernest Morrell for this edWebinar as he shares research-based, student-centered practices for creating joyful and rigorous literacy classrooms that empower all students. Bringing both his extensive experience and personal passion for the topic, Dr. Morrell will show how educators can keep students motivated and excited as they grow essential literacy skills and learn to tackle challenging texts.

Attendees will explore effective strategies and new ideas for creating literacy classrooms that increase both engagement and academic learning for today’s students, such as:

  • Critically questioning texts
  • Developing media literacy skills
  • Connecting writing to student-choice research projects
  • Fostering student voice in the classroom

Together, we can help our students discover a love of literacy that will last them a lifetime! All educators with an interest in literacy—especially K-12 classroom teachers, reading coaches, literacy leaders, instructional leaders, special educators, and curriculum directors—are encouraged to attend this edWebinar. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
