This edWebinar will offer strategies to promote inclusive and equitable literacy in educational settings, fostering a culture of reading. The focus will be on how school districts can support all students, regardless of their backgrounds. It will provide practical approaches to enhance literacy instruction and engage families and communities in inspiring joyful reading. Successful case studies will offer actionable insights for creating a supportive and equitable literacy environment in schools.

About the Presenters
Kaylee Jackson, Vice President of Nothing But Education, is an educational leader specializing in advocacy for equitable literacy instruction. She has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, founding principal, and executive director of curriculum and instruction. As an executive director of curriculum and instruction, she oversaw all the K-12 programs, curricula, and teaching practices. She led the school community through their district priority of Early Literacy and Beyond. This included the successful board approval of two literacy/biliteracy materials adoptions and training district leaders and school staff in the Science of Reading. Through her leadership, she has fostered a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration that empowers leaders to lead equitably.
Dr. Quantina Haggwood is a seasoned consultant, coach, and strategist with over 25 years in education and leadership. She began her career as a middle school math teacher, earning accolades such as Teacher of the Year. Dr. Haggwood has served as an elementary and middle school principal, leading her middle school out of state improvement status and achieving Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards. She has also worked as a director of early childhood education and executive director of teaching and learning, offering districtwide guidance on school improvement. Her role as an executive director of schools further enhanced leadership development and school transformation. Dr. Haggwood holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and advanced degrees in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina. She is the founder and Managing Director of Lighthouse Learning Solutions, a consulting firm dedicated to supporting schools, districts, and organizations partnering with K-12 education.
