About the Presenters
Dr. Jared Bloom spent the early part of his career gaining technological expertise working in various expanding technology companies during the early dot-com era before deciding on a career change. He started his teaching journey as an English teacher at Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn/Queens. He served in numerous public education roles, including teacher, department chair of English, director of technology and data, Title I coordinator, grant writer, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, and superintendent of schools. He was named the 2017 Administrator of the Year for Western Suffolk BOCES Model Schools and received the 2018 Long Island University Chapter Phi Delta Kappa Distinguished Leadership Award and the 2018 Public Service Award from the Suffolk County Martin Luther King Jr. Commission. Dr. Bloom currently serves as Superintendent in the Franklin Square Union Free School District. He has also been an adjunct instructor at Hofstra University, an instructor at Long Island University, and has served in leadership roles for numerous national and state organizations.
Jeff McCoy is the Associate Superintendent of Academics for Greenville County Schools, South Carolina’s largest district, serving over 78,000 students. Celebrating his 24th year with the district, Jeff leads academic initiatives, focusing on closing achievement gaps and enhancing student outcomes through innovation in technology and curricula. He holds a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in education technology with a leadership specialization.
Jeff is actively involved in educational reform, serving on several advisory boards, including the National School Transformation Conference and the RTM National Advisory Board. He launched the National Council for Innovative Instructional Leaders in 2023, uniting chief academic officers nationwide. His publications and co-authored Blueprints on topics like personalized learning and artificial intelligence reflect his dedication to educational excellence. Recognized as a Top 100 Influencer in Education by District Administration in June 2024, Jeff continues to drive progress in the educational sector.
