By midyear, literacy educators have a clearer picture of how students are progressing—but turning that information into action can be challenging.
Starting a literacy screener in the middle of the year can be a practical choice, especially once teams have settled into classroom routines and have more capacity to focus on assessment and follow up. Middle-of-year literacy screening can give educators a timely view of student needs, create an opportunity to adjust core instruction and intervention during the current school year, and provide useful information for planning ahead.
In this edWebinar, literacy educators and education leaders will explore practical ways to use middle-of-year data to identify students who need additional literacy support. They’ll also learn how to adjust instruction and monitor progress while there is still time to make a difference during the current school year. The session will focus on product-agnostic strategies for connecting literacy assessment data to core instruction, intervention, and next steps within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Attendees will leave with a clearer framework for making data-informed literacy decisions now, supporting students across tiers, and planning for the months ahead. This edWebinar will be of interest to PreK-8 district and school literacy leaders, curriculum and assessment teams, MTSS leaders, teachers, coaches, and specialists.
