Beginning-of-year (BOY) data can do more than identify risk. It can help educators build a proactive, research-aligned system of support from day one.
In this edWebinar, educators will explore how the Science of Reading and a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) work together to drive stronger literacy outcomes for all students. The session will demystify the relationship between these two foundational frameworks and show how BOY screening and assessment data can inform smarter decisions across the school year. Attendees will learn how to identify student needs early, strengthen core instruction, determine when additional support is needed, and build a more responsive tiered structure. Attendees will also examine how ongoing progress monitoring can help move from isolated data points to meaningful instructional action.
By the end of the session, attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how assessment, instruction, and intervention connect within an effective literacy system, as well as practical ideas for using BOY data to guide MTSS implementation throughout the year.
This edWebinar will be of interest to teachers, literacy leaders, interventionists, school leaders, and district leaders serving K–8 students. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
