About the Presenters
Anne Valvoda is an experienced educational consultant and curriculum specialist who began her career as a classroom teacher. With years of hands-on teaching, she understands what it takes to keep students engaged and help them succeed. Recognized as Teacher of the Year during her time in the classroom, Anne now focuses on creating meaningful, student-centered curricula and leading professional development for educators, with an extraordinary passion for literacy and handwriting.
She believes that strong literacy skills and clear handwriting are essential for student success and works to design strategies that support these areas in the classroom. Her workshops are practical, engaging, and full of ideas that teachers can immediately apply. Anne loves collaborating with schools and districts to help teachers grow, whether it’s through curriculum design or providing tools to navigate today’s educational challenges. Anne works with Learning Without Tears, supporting educators in building foundational skills for young learners.
Roxanne Thompson received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 1998. She has practiced OT in public schools, early intervention, and currently a private pediatric outpatient clinic. She also provides handwriting tutoring services to children in preschool through middle school. She completed her Level 1 certification in March 2007 and has been presenting for Learning Without Tears since 2009. Roxanne lives in Frisco with her husband and two children.
