How can we proactively reduce the need for reading intervention—and ensure it’s effective when needed? In this edWebinar, viewers explore how preventive practices can be seamlessly integrated into existing reading curricula to reduce the number of students needing intervention. Dr. Wiley Blevins also examines the key characteristics of interventions that are proven to accelerate student growth and why some approaches fail. Real-world district and classroom examples are shared, along with corresponding data that highlights measurable outcomes and practical strategies.
In this edWebinar, you learn:
- What makes a curriculum “proven effective” and how that differs from simply being “based on research/Science of Reading”
- Key look-fors in high-impact phonics instruction
- Simple ways to integrate effective phonics instruction into your reading curricula
- Common causes of phonics instruction failure and how to spot and fix them before they derail progress
This recorded edWebinar is of interest to elementary teachers, school leaders, district leaders, reading specialists, Title I coordinators, MTSS/RTI coordinators, special education teachers, and before- and after-school program coordinators.
