What makes for great summer programming? What should be considered when planning literacy activities for families over the summer? Watch this edWebinar to explore these topics and learn how using a digital library can help provide consistent book access for mono and bilingual families in your summer programming. In addition to thinking through summer success, learn how to pair engagement activities with digital books to enhance home connections and help caregivers provide ongoing literacy development.
Schools and education organizations leave with strategies for effectively planning summer reading for families, and with specific tools and activities for family engagement through literacy. Not only do we explore resources for placing digital books in homes, but we also discuss best practices for driving reader engagement. Each viewer leaves with access to Worldreader’s digital library and summer family book collection.
The session starts with a high-level conversation on planning for summer reading practice and challenges, then drills down into specific activities and digital books educators can send home or use in class. Watch as we “Spring into Summer Planning” in a fun and engaging way!
This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK through elementary teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, ELL educators, migrant family coordinators, and Title 1 coordinators.
