About the Presenters
Nyree Clark, Ed.D. is a visionary educator and the Coordinator of Equity and Access for the Colton Joint Unified School District, where she has been a transformative force since 1998. Her extensive career includes roles as a reading recovery teacher, GATE certified teacher, reading specialist, and ambassador for educational technology. A recipient of the prestigious Platinum Disc from CUE and the MOSAIC Inclusivity Excellence Award, Dr. Clark co-founded Equity In Action CA, advancing diversity in technology and professional learning. With an Ed.D. in leadership for educational justice, her research centers on the schooling experiences of Black girls using Photovoice. Passionate about culturally relevant pedagogy and amplifying unheard voices, she is committed to fostering equity, access, and global connections in education.
Kristin Oropeza is an Education Marketing and Community Coordinator for Common Sense Media, directly supporting educators through the Common Sense Recognition and Ambassador Programs. Prior to her work at Common Sense, Kristin was a classroom teacher for 14 years, most of that spent teaching students with special needs. Throughout her career, Kristin has worked to enhance and redefine how students learn through the use of educational technology and UDL to increase student access, motivation, and engagement with curricula and content. She’s an advocate for the creative, thoughtful, and innovative use of technology, and is passionate about sharing her knowledge, experience, and expertise with others. She presents regularly on UDL, accessibility, and teaching diverse learners at conferences such as CUE, ISTE, TCEA, and more.
