Teachers everywhere recognize the importance of both language development and language arts skills for their students. As our nation’s bilingual population grows, how can we ensure we’re providing the right opportunities for both, particularly within literacy instruction and as it applies to emerging bilingual/English learner (EB/EL) students?

In this edWebinar, you hear from three bilingual educators who themselves have navigated the challenges of integrating language development and language arts standards and strategies into their instruction. From them, you learn:

  • How to connect language development and language arts standards to leverage students’ existing linguistic practices
  • How to select authentic texts, ensuring that meaning is always front and center
  • How to support students at different levels of language development and within different grade levels—including high school

Come join the conversation on how to support students’ pathways to biliteracy and beyond! This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 teachers, school and district leaders, bilingual/ESL directors, reading directors, and assessment directors.
