About the Presenter
Dr. Rebecca A. Palacios is a National Teacher Hall of Fame inductee, National Board Certified Teacher, and expert in family engagement and dual language education. With over 40 years of experience, she has shaped curriculum design and teacher standards nationwide. A Founding Director and former Vice Chair of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, she also co-founded the Texas National Board Coalition for Teaching. Dr. Palacios is a Senior Curriculum Advisor for ABCmouse.com and a Curriculum Board Member for Age of Learning. She has presented globally on early childhood, STEAM, and bilingual education. The author of Being Your Child’s Most Important Teacher, she was Corpus Christi ISD’s first Teacher of the Year and the first Latina inducted into the National Teacher Hall of Fame. She recently received the prestigious James A. Kelly Award for Advancing Accomplished Teaching.
About the Moderator
Kim Carlton is a Senior Academic Officer for Teacher Created Materials, where she provides professional development and training on TCM curriculum materials, Shell Education professional resources, and best instructional practices for districts, teachers, and educational trainers. Kim’s extensive teaching background includes ten years as a classroom teacher, an instructional coach, a literacy coach, and a curriculum director.
