Starting and Maintaining a Virtual School
edWeb’s EdTech Innovators community held a webinar on the development of a successful virtual school. Webinar presenter, Scott Merrick, v-Learning Support Specialist, Academy Coach, v-Lead Teacher, and All-Stars Lead Learner at the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Tennessee, discussed how he went from being a private school teacher to being a vLearning specialist in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. He spoke about the research that he and his team did to make sure the setup process would be cost-effective and sustainable. Scott also shared how the school makes sure that all students keep up with their studies, how he fosters discussions among teachers and students, and how he plans to help the school grow.
