Celebrate Earth Day with edWeb and TFK!
Friday, April 22, 2016 is Earth Day! What better way to prepare your K-8 students then to join edWeb and TIME For Kids for a special live event with Dr. Sylvia Earle. Students will hear from the oceanographer, explorer, and conservationist, who has worked tirelessly to protect the planet’s oceans.
During her presentation on Tuesday, Apr. 19 at 12 p.m. Eastern Time, Dr. Earle will report on her career-long effort to understand and protect the world’s oceans. She will also answer questions from students and teachers. Submit a question from your class when you register. Additional questions can also be submitted to [email protected].
We’re excited for you to join the live event with Sylvia Earle! Use this participation guide with your students before, during, and after the webinar to help them make connections and extend their learning.
Build background knowledge about Earth Day with TIME For Kids’ Environment mini-site. Here you’ll find Earth Day stories and printables, videos, and slideshows to help your students learn more about this international holiday.
TIME For Kids hosts the Real World Literacy community on edWeb. Join to participate in online discussions with peers, for invitations to upcoming webinars, to view past webinar recordings, and for access to more resources.
Do you plan to do video with this event (a special live event with Dr. Sylvia Earle).
I am sure that for many students, these materials will be useful. Teachers will be able to apply in their classroom.
Thanks so much!
