Improving literacy outcomes for all children is not just a matter of finding out what works, but understanding what research-based practices are best for each child and how to implement best practices in diverse classroom contexts. This edWebinar reviews the problem of practice and presents groundbreaking research conducted by Dr. Carol Connor on reading instruction.

Led by Dr. Sarah Siegal, we explore Dr. Connor’s research on the power of individualized literacy instruction and how the four quadrants of literacy teaching and learning put teachers and students on the road to success. Through this edWebinar, viewers:

  • Learn about the research-supported quadrants of teaching and learning across code- and meaning-focused instruction
  • Explore how teacher- versus student-managed instruction influences student outcomes
  • Discover and examine best practices within each quadrant of high-quality teaching and learning

This recorded edWebinar is of benefit to K-8 teachers, curriculum specialists, reading coaches, and school leaders.
