About the Presenters
Sam Deffes has been an educator for over 19 years. She began her career at SP Livingston Elementary in Duval County and taught grades K-4 where she led the MTSS team. She also served Duval County as a Reading Coach and District Literacy Specialist. Sam is an accomplished professional development facilitator, coach, and content developer. She received her master’s degree from the University of Florida with a focus on curriculum and instruction in reading. Sam lives in Middleburg, FL with her husband, two beautiful children, and a dog named Jimmy Bananas. She is currently the Senior Literacy Advisor, Professional Learning and Academic Partnerships at Learning Without Tears.

Nina Isaac is part of the Learning Without Tears Professional Learning Team, where she helps build and facilitate trainings, including Professional Services, and webinars. She has also helped the company with product ideation and sales enablement. Nina also focuses on partnerships with Learning Without Tears’ strategic customers in school districts, managing pilot opportunities, and the overall customer onboarding journey. With over 15 years of experience working with educators, administrators, and students, combined with her passion for technology in education, Nina consistently strives for customer satisfaction and product evolution. As the Senior Professional Learning Partnerships Manager at Learning Without Tears, Nina shares her subject matter expertise and enthusiasm in all areas related to Keyboarding Without Tears and Phonics, Reading, and Me.
