How can you use everyday settings like parks, playgrounds, and neighborhoods to get students engaged and excited about math and STEM? In this edWebinar, Dr. Koshi Dhingra, founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization talkSTEM, will explore place-based learning strategies that engage students in real-world, inquiry- and observation-based learning experiences.
Starting with quick virtual math and STEM walks, Dr. Dhingra will then share how teachers can develop walk stops on their own campuses—and even help students to create their own math and STEM walks. She will also show how each walk is closely connected to essential curricular concepts, strengthening both student engagement and student achievement.
Attendees will leave with:
Give math and STEM the opportunity to leap off the page and into the real world with fun, interactive walks that bring math and STEM to life for all learners! All educators with an interest in math and STEM—especially K-8 classroom teachers, curriculum directors, and instructional leaders—are encouraged to attend this edWebinar.
