About the Presenter

Dr. Shawn Mahoney comes to Key Data Systems and Illuminate Education with diverse experience in education, technology, and leadership, both inside and outside of the classroom. Prior to joining KDS, Shawn served as SVP of Product Development and Chief Learning Officer for McGraw-Hill School Education, and before that, as VP of School Product Design Research and Efficacy at Pearson. Before joining Pearson, Shawn served in public education for seven years. She was a classroom teacher, promoted to Lead Literacy Specialist for the Office of Professional Development and Academics in Tucson Unified School District.

Shawn holds a B.A. in English and secondary education and an M.A. in bilingual and multicultural education from the University of Arizona. She completed her Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she was awarded the Intellectual Contribution and Faculty Tribute Award for the Technology, Innovation, and Education cohort. Shawn completed her Ph.D. in educational technology at Arizona State University.
