This edWebinar defines translanguaging pedagogy and describes the different ways picture books, middle grade, and young adult novels foster dynamic language practices. Viewers see examples from these texts and learn ways to support bilingual and multilingual students using their entire linguistic repertoires.

The presenters examine language study charts featuring language practices across different languages and cultures. Reading in community plans are also shared to highlight the ways classroom communities can be created and sustained using books from the PRH Translanguaging Collections.

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, ELL curriculum directors and teachers, ELA curriculum directors, and literacy specialists.
