This is the third in a three-part series about a groundbreaking approach that deploys family engagement as an effective intervention itself within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports rather than treating family engagement as a pillar within the framework. Family engagement is twice as likely to predict student success as a family’s socioeconomic status (Mapp & Henderson, 2002).

District leaders learn how to unlock significant student outcome gains by building on solid Tier 1 family engagement practices related to key outcome areas including attendance, academics, and well-being. While districts have systems in place to identify struggling students and apply targeted interventions, a common challenge remains: accurately diagnosing the root causes behind different student outcomes. Typically, student support teams meet to address these challenges, but one essential voice is often missing—the family. Families are a student’s first teacher and their most significant advocate. Bringing the “student expert” into the conversation can be a game changer, ensuring that interventions are aligned with the real, underlying causes of student struggles.

View this edWebinar to learn how to leverage family engagement as a powerful support tool in Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, and how insights from higher tiers of support can inform improvements at Tier 1. This recorded edWebinar is designed for K-12 district leaders.
