About the Presenters
Gina Perez is a family engagement specialist with San Bernardino City USD who has a passion for systemizing family engagement, supporting families as equal partners in students’ successes and serving the community that provided her so much. In addition to being an SBCUSD student, Mrs. Perez has served as a district athletic coach, teacher, resource teacher, program facilitator and administrator designee. She has her Bachelor of Arts in English literature, master’s degree in educational leadership, primary and secondary credentials.
Dr. Emily Couch is a Pacific Northwest native who has taught, coached, and led in schools and districts throughout Oregon and Washington for the past decade. She has undergraduate degrees in elementary education and history, her master’s degree in Student Development Counseling and Administration, an ESOL endorsement, and an administrative license. She completed her doctorate with a concentration in Curriculum Design and Development in 2021. Dr. Couch is passionate about centering student experiences as she collaborates with colleagues to create schools and systems that serve each and every student. She is always looking for opportunities to explore and travel.
