The Science of Reading provides the content for high-quality reading instruction—and classroom management provides the context for that instruction. Quality classroom management can enhance the effectiveness of Science-of-Reading-based instruction and help increase student achievement, but a lack of evidence-based classroom management can result in derailed lessons, off-task student behaviors, and frustrated educators.

Attend this edWebinar with Dr. Lee Wright, early literacy expert and educational trainer, as he reviews five elements of classroom management that will help set the stage for effective Science-of-Reading-informed instruction:

  • Teaching high-quality classroom routines
  • Organizing the physical classroom environment
  • Providing opportunities for student independence
  • Engaging students cognitively, physically, and emotionally
  • Empowering families to support students’ reading development

You’ll leave with practical strategies you can start using right away to help lead your students to reading proficiency.

All educators with an interest in elementary literacy—especially K-5 classroom teachers, reading coaches, literacy leaders, instructional leaders, special educators, and curriculum directors—are encouraged to attend this edWebinar. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
