About the Presenters
Dr. Nika Fabienke is the Senior Director, Curriculum at Age of Learning, where she leads teams that design curricula and learning experiences for the digital environment. Prior to Age of Learning, Dr. Fabienke was a teacher, district curriculum specialist, and educational consultant. She has helped teachers and administrators bring rigorous, research-based, culturally responsive instruction to young learners. She earned a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Chapman University and a Doctor of Education in teacher education in multicultural settings (TEMS) from the University of Southern California. Dr. Fabienke combines practical knowledge from the classroom, road-tested wisdom from professional development work, and formal academic understanding of science of how children learn.
In his role as Early Childhood Curriculum Specialist at Age of Learning, Dr. Stanley Diih is responsible for developing learning experiences designed to engage early learners in multidisciplinary exploration, as well as constructing learning standards and objectives for early childhood, ages two to four. Prior to joining Age of Learning, Dr. Diih served as a lead teacher at the Early Childhood Research Center in Buffalo, NY, where he designed and implemented learning experiences for children birth to eight years old and studied the cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical development of this age group. Dr. Diih received his Doctor of Education and his Master of Education with a concentration in early childhood education from the University at Buffalo.
