About the Presenters
Matthew Burns, Ph.D., is Fein Professor of Special Education at the University of Florida. He has published more than 200 articles and 15 books and is dedicated to positively influencing practice in K–12 schools and mentoring the next generation of thought leaders in education. He is a co-editor of Remedial and Special Education and the Journal of MTSS, and a past editor of School Psychology Review and Assessment for Effective Intervention.

Michelle Hosp, Ph.D., has over 30 years of experience working with students, educators, families, and researchers as a school psychologist, professor, Director of the Iowa Reading Research Center, and Senior Director of Assessment Innovation at Renaissance. She is the creator of the Star Phonics assessment and co-author of the book The ABCs of CBM: A Practical Guide to Curriculum-Based Measurement.
