Join us for an exciting conversation on how AI is reshaping writing assessment, feedback, and instruction. In this edWebinar, Nora Gillam, Director of K-8 Literacy at the KIPP Foundation, will share insights from KIPP’s large-scale pilot to measure student writing achievement and growth over the school year using AI tools. By leveraging automated assessment, KIPP is gaining richer, more consistent insights into student progress; data that was once too time-consuming to capture at scale.

Attendees will also hear from Adam Feiler-Ware, Managing Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Dream Charter Schools in New York City, a leading voice in using AI and data-driven approaches to strengthen teaching and learning. He’ll discuss how thoughtful AI implementation enhances feedback, improves outcomes, and supports teachers.

Together, these leaders will share best practices about how they have integrated AI technology into their organizations, share lessons learned on how to implement these tools in a human-centered way, and show how every district can identify the right early opportunities to integrate AI meaningfully and effectively.

This edWebinar will be of interest to elementary through high school teachers, school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders.

Norah Gillam

About the Presenters

Norah Gillam has been in education for 20 years. During that time, she has worked as a teacher, department chair, literacy specialist, assistant principal, founding Dean of Relay Baton Rouge, regional executive coach, and now as a Director of Literacy at the Foundation. This year will be her 14th year with KIPP, and 6th with the KIPP Foundation. This year, Norah is supporting folks in developing strong writing instruction and assessment practices through the AI Supported Writing Instruction Pilot.

She lives in Tallahassee, Florida, where she spends a lot of time supporting Florida State women’s athletics. Anytime you want to have a good debate on the merits and missteps of the Oxford comma – she’s your girl. She believes deeply in the designated hitter and league-wide salary caps. When she is not reading or writing, she is probably either playing with her amazing dogs or dancing with her incomparable wife, Keli.
