Kelly Goodrich, Sr. Director for Policy & Advocacy at NWEA, presented recommendations for action in the field.

About the Study: Amidst ongoing scrutiny of the role of testing in schools, Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA), a global not-for-profit educational services organization, recently released this second edition of public opinion research intended to help inform the dialogue on assessment and keep the focus on student learning.  The new study, conducted by Grunwald Associates LLC, presents the findings of a survey of 1,042 students, 1,004 teachers and 200 administrators. Its findings underscore that students, teachers and district administrators agree on what should be the fundamental focus of assessments. All want tests to be meaningful to learning and useful for K-12 education, particularly classroom instruction.
