edWeb.net and littleBits Education Partner to Host a STEAM Learning Community

littleBits square logoedWeb.net and littleBits Education are partnering to host STEM Learning: Full STEAM Ahead, a free, professional learning community on edWeb that will support educators working with students in grades 2-8. Through this free online community and edWebinars, littleBits Education will help educators empower children to unlock their creative and technical confidence through invention, and to be creators of technology, not just consumers of it.

STEM Learning: Full STEAM Ahead provides an online forum for educators to attend free edWebinars, collaborate with peers, share practices and tips, and access a growing professional learning center on topics including makerspaces, project-based learning, student-driven learning, coding and robotics, and going from STEM to STEAM.

The community offers free edWebinars that are a lively, real-time exchange of ideas with experts and colleagues. All edWebinars are recorded for on-demand viewing at any time. Educators earn a CE certificate for attending live or for taking a quiz after viewing the recording.

littleBits Education’s first edWebinar, “Coding + STEAM: Getting Students Future Ready,” will be presented on Wednesday, October 11 at 4pm Eastern Time. Jon Samuelson, Innovation Strategist at Beaverton School District in Beaverton, OR, will discuss tips and tricks on integrating coding and STEAM, as well as many ideas to try in the classroom, makerspace, or school. Educators are invited to register for the edWebinar on the event page.

“Educators know that they’re preparing students for careers that haven’t even been invented yet. That’s why we’re so thrilled about the partnership with edWeb so we can help foster a community where educators can get ideas for engaging their students in STEM and STEAM learning,” said Marc Keller, General Manager of littleBits Education.

Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO of edWeb, commented, “We are very excited about our partnership with littleBits as we see such a high demand among educators for information on STEM, STEAM, coding, and robotics. Educators see how these learning experiences excite their students, girls and boys, and help them explore subjects that are so important for college and career readiness, and the future of our society.”

Educators are invited to join the free STEM Learning: Full STEAM Ahead professional learning community on edWeb.net at www.edweb.net/STEM
