Story S-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-r-s: Curriculum Activities to Expand Children’s Favorite Books
Thursday, November 12, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EST
Presented by Dr. Shirley Raines, Speaker, Consultant and Trainer, Author
Sponsored by Kaplan Early Learning Company
Children love a good story. They often applaud and giggle at happy stories, sniffle at sad ones, and shout, “Read it, again!” whenever they have been delighted, intrigued or charmed by a story. Knowing young children’s love of good stories, it’s important to extend that enthusiasm and to better connect children’s books and teaching ideas with other areas of the curriculum. Story S-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-r-s is a literature-based approach to planning circle time, center, and activities, organized around themes often found in the early childhood curriculum. In this webinar, teachers learned how to plan the curriculum using children’s literature as an organizer.
