As educators, our goal is to support our learners as they learn and grow. We want our students to engage and experience success in learning, but we are often challenged to adapt our practices to facilitate this. Enter students as creators. When learners create, they can engage and connect more deeply with their learning while applying a wide range of necessary academic and career success skills.

In this recorded edWebinar, viewers reflect on how they perceive student learning and success. They can then connect their vision with the positive impact students as makers have on learner success and well-being. Next, we explore concrete examples of learning experiences where students are positioned as creators and agents in their learning. Finally, we evaluate the skills and proficiencies that are positively impacted when students create. View this edWebinar to:

  • Learn the characteristics of student success and learning
  • Recognize the positive impact student-centered creation has on learning outcomes
  • Explore learning experiences with learners as creators
  • Evaluate the skills and proficiencies applied when students create

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to teachers, especially those who teach music, librarians, school and district leaders, and education technology leaders of the middle and high school grades.
