Every math teacher has heard students ask, “When am I ever going to use this?” Career-connected learning can turn that question into a powerful teaching moment.

Career-connected learning shows students how the core concepts they’re learning show up in real careers. By revealing the why behind what students are learning, we can increase their classroom engagement and expose them to potential career pathways in STEM and beyond.

In this edWebinar, Jessica Patterson and Julie Harris-Lawrence from Savvas Learning Company will discuss:

  • National and state policies shaping math instruction and graduation pathways
  • The concept of career-connected learning: what it is, why it’s important, and its impact
  • Practical strategies for weaving career connections into middle- and high-school math

This edWebinar is for any educators interested in college and career readiness, especially 6-12 math educators, district leaders, and school counselors.

Attendees will also receive a free career-connected lesson to try with their students!
