This edWebinar reviews recent research into early literacy development, revealing the powerful effect of explicitly integrating reading, handwriting, and keyboarding instruction as we prepare students to read fluently, communicate thoughtfully across mediums and technology devices, and engage fully in their education and in the world. Viewers review the elements of effective instruction based on the Science of Reading and discuss the developmental sequence for learning reading, handwriting, and keyboarding skills from readiness to fluency. Watch to learn how integrating these skills can have a lifelong impact on PreK-5 students’ literacy development.

View this edWebinar to:

  • Identify the connection between the Science of Reading and written communication skills
  • Understand the links between handwriting, keyboarding, and overall literacy success
  • Connect both explicit instruction and an integrated approach to best support reading and writing development

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK-5 teachers, school leaders, education technology leaders, and occupational therapists.
