About the Presenters
Kristin Gray is the Executive Director, Math Suite at Amplify, and previously served as the Director of K–5 Curriculum and Professional Learning at Illustrative Mathematics. She is also a National Board Certified, 22-year veteran teacher and coach of grades K–8. Her continuous curiosity around students’ mathematical ideas drives her work in designing instructional materials that create a coherent mathematical story for all students.
Phil Daro is an experienced educational designer, currently serving as an advisor and collaborator on core math at Amplify. In addition to extensive work around math standards, implementation, and policy, Phil directed large-scale teacher professional development programs for the University of California, including the California Mathematics Project and the American Mathematics Project. His 16 years at the University included six years directing projects to help states develop standards, accountability, and testing systems.
