Sunil Singh

About the Presenters

Sunil Singh is an author, storyteller, and porous math educator with 19 years of experience teaching math, physics, and English, including at an International IB School in Switzerland. He now passionately shares the history and narrative of mathematics globally. In 2024, Sunil will be embarking on two new projects. He will be promoting interdisciplinary learning at Vireo Education, and he will be teaching at The Conduit School with a program called The Math Treehouse. Sunil has delivered numerous keynotes and presentations on storytelling in mathematics worldwide, including workshops at The Museum of Mathematics in New York and The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. His fourth book, Sonic Seducer: Lust For Life With The Heaviest Moments, Memories, and Magic of Rock and Roll, releases in 2024, followed by his fifth, Amoret in Wonderland: A Child’s Imaginative Journey Towards The Land of Algebra, in 2026. Sunil’s work emphasizes the importance of curiosity, play, and the rich history of mathematics.

James Sanders

James Sanders is the Product Marketing Manager at Unruly Studios, where he champions the transformative potential of Unruly Math and Unruly Code for K-12 education. With over 15 years of experience in the field, James has helped introduce tools like Chromebooks, YouTube for Education, and Breakout EDU to schools. His efforts focus on empowering educators with innovative strategies to enhance learning and engagement in the classroom. His background in integrating technology into education is complemented by his background as the founder and CEO of Breakout EDU, a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the White House, and an Innovation Manager for KIPP Schools. James holds a master’s in elementary education from Loyola Marymount University and a bachelor’s in social studies from Western Washington University. Outside of his professional endeavors, he is passionate about photography and adventures with his young family.
