About the Presenters

Peter Whitmore has over 20 years of experience in teaching and learning. He started out in the classroom and was awarded Teacher of the Year as a middle school English teacher. He later moved on to instructional coaching, school administration, and district leadership. As Director of Professional Services at Illuminate Education, he oversees professional development and consultation services for 1600 districts nationwide.

 

James Fleming is an experienced instructional leader who works with districts and charter schools nationwide. Before joining the Illuminate team, James was a middle school science teacher, an assistant principal, and Director of Assessment and Accountability. As a director, James led a complete overhaul of his district’s K-12 assessment strategy, which redefined the district’s measures of student success at a classroom, site, and district levels. He is dedicated to improving the school experience for all students.
