Christian AdairAbout the Presenters

Christian Adair has over 20 years of experience as an educator, coach, and mentor. His current responsibilities with Fayette County Public Schools are to support the district mission, ensure a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion by leading transition and dropout prevention strategies such as mentoring initiatives that include Scholastic REAL Read. In addition, as the district Educating Boys of Color support specialist, he provides professional development for teachers to assist students that have been historically underserved, marginalized, or disengaged.

 

Tina Hike-HubbardTina Hike-Hubbard began her education career as a Teach For America (TFA) corps member. In 2010, Tina was appointed by Governor O’Malley and Mayor Rawlings-Blake to serve as a school board commissioner for Baltimore City Public Schools, serving as a commissioner for eight years, including two years as Vice Chair. Tina has been named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record and has received the Family League’s President’s Award, which recognizes outstanding work impacting Baltimore’s children and families.

 

Dwaine MillardDwaine Millard is the SVP and general manager for literacy initiatives at Scholastic, where he is responsible for developing strategies and supports for schools, families, and communities through the lens of literacy as an agent of change. Dwaine has spent over 15 years as a national leader working for educational publishing and services companies, with a focus on working with school districts to improve literacy and acceleration for all students. He remains committed to working with school leadership, community organizations and corporations to create strategic solutions that increase equity and access for all children.
