Researchers have found that “nudges” to students and their families regarding their attendance can reduce absenteeism and improve overall student engagement. Most schools experienced challenges with attendance and student participation during the recent distance learning scenario of COVID-19, and with distance learning likely to continue in some form or another this fall/winter, developing a robust attendance interventions and student participation strategy should be on every district’s must-have list for the 2020/21 school year.

In this edWebinar,  learn how simple attendance intervention measures can be applied to improve student engagement during distance learning. Hear from Dr. Peter Bergman, Assistant Professor at Columbia University, who discuss his research and recommendations for engaging students and parents. He is joined by Hedy Chang and Joanna Smith who provide best practices on implementing attendance interventions at scale.

Key takeaways of this edWebinar are:

  • The latest research findings on attendance interventions and student engagement for the remote learning era.
  • Learn how data-insights can arm educators with indicators on students who may require additional support, and why.
  • Hear how technology-powered solutions can intelligently automate the nudging and outreach to students and families in response to early indicators of disengagement.

This recorded edWebinar will be of interest to school and district leaders of elementary through high school.
