Today’s schools are increasingly culturally and linguistically diverse, with students bringing a rich range of experiences and assets to the classroom. Providing equitable opportunities for English learners to participate fully in rigorous grade-level content begins with understanding where they are at in both their content and language mastery so that educators can build on those strengths.

During this recorded edWebinar, Drs. Seth Aldrich and Alejandra Estrada-Burt explore the role of assessment in supporting English learners within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). They highlight three common challenges and share various approaches to address them. View for expert guidance about:

  • How to interpret universal screening, diagnostic assessment, and progress monitoring results through a multilingual lens
  • How to prevent over and underrepresentation of English learners in special education
  • What to expect in terms of continuous progress for English learners

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK-12 teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, school counselors, and school psychologists.

Your CE certificate for this edWebinar will include ESL/ELL as a category for your professional learning.
