In this edWebinar, John Funk, M.Ed., Senior Early Education Expert, presents ideas in all areas of STEM to enhance the experience of children in an early childhood setting. The information presented will be based in research and the ideas and activities have been used successfully in early childhood classrooms. Viewers will be able to:

  • Identify the subject areas included in the STEM umbrella (science, technology, engineering, math) and understand how they are interrelated for supporting early childhood standards
  • Understand the common early childhood standards that should be addressed in STEM subjects
  • Be motivated to provide hands-on experiences for supporting STEM content, including independent activities for centers
  • Integrate multiple STEM subjects into individual activities

The goal is that each viewer will be inspired to create new ideas for supporting STEM content areas in their individual site. In the edWebinar, viewers are encouraged to create a small journal to record generated ideas for each content area that can work in her/his individual classroom. Through the individual journals, the teacher will be able to customize ideas to the age level of their students.

PreK classroom teachers and supervisors will benefit from watching this recorded edWebinar. Gain ideas for teaching STEM in early childhood education.
