As access to technology expands, so does the need to prepare students for safe and responsible participation in the digital world. This edWebinar helps educators understand how to teach the principles of digital citizenship alongside literacy instruction. Viewers explore methods for empowering students to think critically about information, recognize safe practices, and engage respectfully with online content.

Nonfiction literacy activities are presented as a powerful way to connect reading comprehension with responsible digital habits. While PebbleGo is discussed as one example of a platform that offers a secure environment for exploration, the session highlights broader strategies for supporting students in their journey toward safe, informed, and thoughtful digital engagement.

Educators leave with practical tools to foster curiosity while reinforcing the values of safety, respect, and responsibility in their classrooms. This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-5 teachers, librarians, school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders.
