Hello early learning specialists and educators! Do you have students who just can’t seem to manage their emotions? Who can’t seem to sit still? Who would rather get a laugh from a classmate than pay attention? These students may be struggling with self-regulation. This edWebinar focuses on teaching simple and effective strategies to help preschool- and kindergarten-aged children learn to regulate their emotions throughout the school day. The presenters talk about what self-regulation is and how to create a nurturing learning environment that supports all children as they learn how to remain calm and in control of their thoughts and actions.
Designing a classroom environment that encourages young children to develop strong self-regulation skills requires intentional thought and planning. This edWebinar provides simple activities and strategies that can be embedded throughout the day to help preschool and kindergarten students learn how to regulate their emotions. Viewers learn when and how to implement these strategies during the school day so that each student learns how to self-regulate to the best of their ability. This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK and kindergarten teachers, librarians, special education specialists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, and school and district leaders.
