About the Presenters
Gene Kerns, Ed.D., is Chief Academic Officer at Renaissance and a nationally acclaimed speaker on assessment, learning progressions, and educational standards. He is a third-generation educator and a former director of curriculum and instruction. He is also co-author of three books: inFormative Assessment, Unlocking Student Talent, and Literacy Reframed.
Julie Vogel, Ph.D., is the National Education Officer at Renaissance. She was formerly Superintendent of Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, TX, and Director of Instructional Services in the Diocese of Portland, OR. She is also a former K–8 teacher, building principal, college professor, and associate dean.
