About the Presenters
Sara Geliebter is Associate Manager of Tutoring and Grants at the San Francisco Education Fund (Ed Fund), a nonprofit that advances equitable education through learning acceleration programs, mental wellness initiatives, community engagement, and providing transformative financial resources to SFUSD students, educators, and schools. Sara and her team coordinate and implement high-impact tutoring programs for selected SFUSD schools. To date, the Ed Fund has provided tutoring to over 6,000 students across 30 SFUSD schools.
Air Orona is a Site Director with Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K.), a community-based organization celebrating 30 years as the largest provider of active and enriching programs for children and youth in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley. In this role, Air collaborates with school staff and administration to identify the needs of the community, providing essential support to address any gaps. Air plans and implements programs that enhance literacy interventions, promote safe and engaging play, foster social-emotional learning, organize community events, and encourage youth leadership. By working closely with the R.O.C.K. team and partnering with outside organizations, Air supports the mission and vision of Visitacion Valley Elementary School. Having served the Visitacion Valley community for the past nine years, Air originally began as the garden teacher and was instrumental in establishing the school’s garden.
Connie Warren, M.Ed., is an experienced educator with over 20 years of literacy, instructional coaching, and educational leadership expertise. Her career has spanned roles such as teacher, literacy coach, and educational technology specialist, all to improve student outcomes and empower educators. With a focus on literacy development and instructional best practices, Connie has worked closely with schools and districts to support teachers in implementing research-based strategies that drive student success.
Known for her deep understanding of educational challenges and her ability to translate theory into actionable solutions, Connie is a passionate advocate for fostering student engagement and academic growth. She has collaborated with educators, administrators, and policymakers throughout her career to create impactful professional development programs and support systems that elevate teaching and learning. Connie remains dedicated to enhancing the educational experience for students and educators alike, continually advocating for innovation and excellence in education.
