Thanks to media-rich and authentic materials for courses, students gradually develop linguistic skills and cross-cultural understanding, while interacting with the online material and their peers. Aline described how underlying pedagogical principles of immersion pedagogy, such as exposure to authentic linguistic and cultural input, content-based and content-oriented processing, form-focused instruction, pushed output and development of learning and metacognitive strategies were used to design online language courses and their content.
