D., the ESL and Multilingual Services Director at the Little Rock School District in Arkansas focused on the challenges ELLs face, the many benefits to bilingualism, and how her school district is ensuring success for their ELLs.  English Language Learners can have a great competitive advantage when they are able to develop proficiency in English.  Karen talked about specific program design, how to leverage technology, creating a safe learning environment, and celebrating milestones to motivate students.
