This edWebinar introduces you to Jobs Explained, a new, free resource collection that any teacher, counselor, or educational leader can use to keep secondary school students inspired and committed to earning a high school diploma and exploring potential careers.
View this edWebinar to learn about the career-focused digital content developed for, with, and by youth. Rather than traditional media programming, Jobs Explained offers a growing collection of short-form, vertical videos on popular social media platforms about in-demand and civic-minded careers. In addition to previewing the videos, our presenters showcase the many ways Jobs Explained content can be integrated into the curriculum, offered as a library resource, and included in the resources college and career counselors offer to students. It’s like a virtual career fair, available any time on any device that invites students to explore opportunities in their own communities and beyond so they can prepare for fulfilling, and yes, interesting, careers!

About the Presenters
DeVonté Bailey is a seasoned social video specialist with a fervent dedication to Aerospace Jobs Explained. A father of two, writer, and aspiring filmmaker, DeVonté’s career is driven by a profound passion for storytelling and community service. After a distinguished career in the US Airforce, DeVonté earned a Bachelor of Science in digital filmmaking and transitioned into a career as a social video specialist for the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority and the Jobs Explained initiative. DeVonté brings a unique blend of storytelling prowess and technical acumen to his role, enhancing the outreach and impact of Aerospace Jobs Explained through compelling visual narratives.
Scott Jackson has been teaching ESL and United States history at the Brooklyn International High School in downtown Brooklyn—a school solely for recent immigrant students—for 21 years. He has also been overseeing the internship program at the school for the last 18 years and helps place around 75 students each spring in 10-week-long workplace experiences. It is the relationships Scott has built with sites around New York City and watching his students work at those sites that he says is the highlight of each year.
Aaron Siegel is the Project Director for American Graduate: Jobs Explained at WNET in New York City. He is a passionate advocate for youth development, learning, and media literacy. He worked for 15 years at Carnegie Hall producing professional development workshops for music educators and creating concert experiences that bring together professional artists and young musicians. Aaron is also a composer and leads the New York-based Experiments in Opera community of writers and composers who are making new opera more accessible and inclusive.
