In this edWebinar, Emmy and Tony-nominated producer Jennifer Kranz previews her new musical in development that is a bold, contemporary retelling of the story of the first two wives of Henry VIII—Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. She overviews the process of creating a musical that is intended for Broadway from scratch—the ups, the downs, the fun, and the drama of it all—as well as preview never-before-heard songs from the show by Grammy-nominated (The Blade) songwriter Jamie Floyd (USA Network’s Real Country and a nationally touring artist).
Jennifer is interested to hear reactions to the story and music and looking forward to answering any and all questions about the process of development. Viewers can expect to learn basic terminologies related to Broadway development and producing and will be exposed to a brand-new project in development, based on history, but with a unique twist.
This recorded edWebinar will be of interest to middle school and high school teachers and school leaders. Educators in history, theater, music and production programs in particular will appreciate an insider’s approach to creating a Broadway musical.
