Do you want students to take ownership of their learning, but you’re not sure how to get started? Building a learning environment for students to share, collaborate and learn from one another can happen quickly when the proper structures are in place.
In this edWebinar, viewers learn foundational structures and routines that allow students the opportunity to begin having productive academic conversations, while taking ownership of their learning. Deana Senn and Jody Honaker discuss the structures outlined in the book, The Power of Student Teams, by Michael Toth and David Sousa. This model of instruction has been used inside their partner schools for years, and since 2018 they have had a 100% success rate of raising achievement scores—even during the pandemic.
This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 teachers, school and district leaders, and education technology leaders.

The team from Learning Sciences International (LSI) has transitioned to Instructional Empowerment (IE). The name better aligns with our social mission of ending generational poverty and eliminating racial achievement gaps. IE better communicates that we help schools empower students, teachers, and leaders with the agency to drive their own learning and equip ALL children to thrive beyond school.
