Many districts have strong MTSS and PBIS frameworks in place—yet still struggle with inconsistent implementation, staff burnout, and limited behavior change. This edLeader Panel explores why strategy alone isn’t the issue—and what’s truly missing. Through the lens of the Conscious Discipline model, attendees will examine how an adult-first, brain-based practice transforms tiered systems from something we plan into something we live every day.

Rather than adding another initiative, this session focuses on how regulation, connection, and intentional daily practices create the conditions for Tier 1 to actually work—reducing the need for higher-level interventions. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how to bridge the gap between systems and practice, strengthen staff capacity, and build sustainable, aligned support for students and adults alike.

This edLeader Panel will be of interest to PreK-8 school leaders and district leaders.

Conscious Discipline

Conscious Discipline is a comprehensive, evidence-informed approach that helps schools and districts create safe, connected, and resilient learning environments—starting with adults. Grounded in brain science, it equips educators with practical strategies to regulate their own responses, model essential life skills, and respond to behavior in ways that build trust and strengthen relationships.

Through a scalable system of professional learning—including training, coaching, immersive institutes, and job-embedded resources—Conscious Discipline supports consistent, districtwide implementation. The result is measurable impact: improved school climate, fewer disruptions, stronger relationships, and increased staff confidence and retention. By building adult capacity as the foundation for change, Conscious Discipline helps districts move beyond one-time initiatives to achieve sustainable, system-level transformation that lasts.
