Come learn about the many ways in which music participation in early childhood naturally supports and enhances children’s brain development in the infant, toddler, and preschool years. Research continues to emphasize the importance of the first five years of a child’s life for their brain development. Music can be an enjoyable, natural, and easy way for educators to support the development of important structural changes, neurological processes, and cognitive skills during this very active time of brain development.
In this interactive edWebinar, attendees will review important terms and processes associated with brain development in early childhood, begin to understand how and why developmentally appropriate music and movement activities support young children’s brain development, and learn new songs they can use right away in their work with young children. Attendees will also explore specific techniques they can use when interacting musically with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to best support brain development in these earliest years.
This edWebinar will be of interest to PreK teachers and school leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

Music Together® is the leader in early childhood music education. Our curriculum and enrichment resources have decades of research behind them, in both music education and child development. As the first organization to hold music classes for the youngest learners, and the first to include parents, we have been pioneers in early childhood music education since day one. First offered in 1987, our music classes, curricula, and enrichment resources for children birth through kindergarten help little ones develop their innate musicality and much, much more—when Music Together is offered by a school, music becomes a powerful learning tool. From private and public preschools, to pre-kindergarten programs, Head Start, childcare centers, and in-home daycares, our award-winning music and developmentally appropriate activities have been found to raise the overall quality of children’s early learning.
